Erasmus+

Erasmus+

The Erasmus+ programme offers numerous opportunities for gaining international knowledge and experience abroad as well as at your home institution. We encourage Saxion students and staff members to benefit from these opportunities.

What is Erasmus+?

Erasmus+ is the European Union’s grant programme for promoting mobility, collaboration and life-long learning. Saxion has been awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) for the period 2021-2027. This allows us to participate in the Erasmus+ programme. The programme offers our students, staff members and partners the opportunity to broaden their horizons and develop their skills. It also promotes international and interdisciplinary collaboration.

How can you make use of the Erasmus+ programme?

Discover the world, experience other cultures, learn new languages, make international friends and enhance your CV.  Erasmus+ makes it easy for you to gain international experience while you are studying at Saxion. Consider the idea of a project assignment, internship or minor abroad. For example, you could study abroad for a semester at one of Saxion’s partner universities and obtain your recognised credits here.

Are you currently enrolled at Saxion? In many cases, you can apply for an Erasmus+ grant for an exchange programme in Europe. See the MySaxion Going Abroad page for more detailed information on the conditions and application process.

Are you coming to Saxion as an exchange student? Our onboarding programme will prepare you for getting off to a good start at Saxion. Besides all Erasmus+ students can follow a Dutch for Internationals Course for free. For now, we imagine you have questions about accommodation, insurance, your visa etc.

Practical matters

It is important to continue developing your skills as a professional in education. With the Erasmus+ programme, Saxion staff members can gain new skills abroad. Teach, follow a training course, do some job shadowing and/or learn about new teaching methods. You can receive financial support.

The Erasmus+ programme offers two options:

  • Erasmus Teaching: You can organise educational activities at a partner university within the Erasmus+ network. For example, a guest lecture or a joint project.
  • Erasmus Training: You can take part in training courses offered by our partner universities. For example, an international week or workshops for professional development.

In addition to the exchanges of our students and staff abroad, we also encourage international collaborations through Erasmus+.

  • Educational and research projects of our Schools and Research groups;
  • Cooperation Partnerships for e.g. innovation in education;
  • Erasmus Mundus;
  • European University Alliance - E³UDRES².
