European universities of applied sciences join forces in consortium

At a seminar organized by Saxion in the Netherlands, six European Universities of Applied Sciences signed a declaration that forms the outline for U-DRIVE. The acronym U-DRIVE stands for Universities of Applied Sciences for Development, Research, Innovation, Valorisation and Education. U-DRIVE is a consortium of institutions for higher education that work together towards better cooperation in the field of European and international Education and Research.

Saxion first to receive institutional accreditation

The Netherlands Flanders Accreditation Organisation (NVAO) recently awarded Saxion with the first institutional accreditation for Dutch Universities of Applied Sciences. Saxion’s programmes are regularly audited by the NVAO, and this accreditation is big step forward.

Saxion students win 3rd price in design contest

Five international students from Saxion’s School of Environmental Planning and Building recently won the third price in an urban design and spatial implementation contest. The students received the price for their entry to a contest on ideas for a planned “fast bike lane” route between the cities of Arnhem and Nijmegen in the Eastern part of the Netherlands. The 16 kilometers long track should stimulate car drivers and passengers to use their bike more often.
