In September ’09 Saxion’s School of Governance & Law started with a final year programme for international students. The first class is made up of students from all over the world, including several Dutch students. At this moment, a group of seventeen enthusiastic students are following a challenging programme on law, public administration and management.

Chinese student Yang Zhao is one of them. He says: “I have a three years educational background in Chinese law. I found my study in China to much focused on the national law. I would like to learn something new such as international law. And I thought it was a good idea to study law in a foreign country. Besides that, I have a Dutch friend studying at my university in China. He told me that the education in international law in the Netherlands is quite good. So I took his suggestion to come to the Netherlands for finishing my bachelor’s degree at Saxion in Enschede.”

At the start of his study in the Netherlands, Yang had of course many different experiences. Some of them were quite good, some were shocking. However after a while, he found his way to deal with the cultural differences. “Speaking frankly, Saxion is a good place to study. All my experiences prove that my decision was a good one!”, says Yang.

Recently this international class made an excursion to learn more about the Dutch culture. Amongst others they visited the “Kaasboerderij in Lievelde”.
