In 2009, 28 master students supported by an NFP scholarship will enrol in our programmes. Compared to last year, it is an increase of more than 100%. The Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) provides professionals from deprived countries with a full scholarship, including tuition fee, housing and cost of living.

Last year, Saxion faced a drastic decrease in the number of NFP scholarship students. This was caused by a change in policy by the Dutch government. This year new budgets were set, resulting in a larger intake of students for Saxion.

Saxion is one of the few universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands where international NFP scholarship students can enrol as this scholarship is specifically aimed at master students. Most universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands don’t offer master courses.

Recipients of the NFP scholarship are mostly students with working experience in the countries they come from. Their newly acquired master degree will empower them to really make a difference in their home countries.
