Year of Study:
My name is Bo Zhao from China and studied at Saxion University from 2005 to 2006 in the International Bachelor Program final year, specializing in Urban and Regional Planning and Development. My study in this program was truly enjoyable and a substantial one. I covered three units in the one year internatioanl program, including my final dissertation. Moreover, my study was really exciting, even sometimes 'overwhelming' for my Chinese culture background at that time. The study was assembled by various forms, which included normal lectures, indivusal assignments, groupworks and excursions. I benefit a lot from the study, particularly the academic rigor in the program I did and different perspective to researching subjects based on work practice. The teaching staff were very helpful and supportive to all students.
This course offered me a solid foundation for future study or career development!
Besides my study, my life experience in the Netherlands is invaluable to me. Dutch people were very friendly and welcoming to foreingers. I think Chinese people should learn the good tradition I experienced in the Dutch culture, which I consider a glory of the small but amazing country. Having done a short period of time working in China after finishing my Bachelor program in the Netherlands, I now study in UK for a postgraduate program. In my opinions, Bachelor or undergraduate study is more important than postgraduate, because of the essential learning skills you gain over the undergraduate study. Thus, I think I was lucky enough to gain my bachelor degree in the Netherlands and my study placed a good life-long basis that helps me for either future study or career development.
