    Year of Study:

I paid little attention to universities outside my lovely Indonesia. But I got a once in a lifetime scholarship opportunity to study abroad. So, I decided to attend the International Bachelor Programme (IBP) as a final year student because of some reasons: first of all, the leaflet was nice. And then, the school of Environmental Building and Planning offers very interesting subjects. And I met already one of the teachers in Indonesia, who was very inspiring. And at last, I love the challenge of being in a unique, international country like the Netherlands is. From my experience, I love Saxion! I experienced one of the best year of my life.

Thanks Saxion for bridging me to a brighter future.

I was assisted by the International Office right from the very beginning: with the enrolment form, housing arrangement, pick-up at my arrival and everything about documents and preparation for my study and also until the end of it. During my study, they also arranged some interesting activities for the international students.

And I love my international class. I studied really in the multidisciplinary and multinational environment. We had to be active, take initiative, and also autonomous. But we can always rely on our teachers. They are willing to share their knowledge and experiences, and even willing also to learn from us. We had many field trips and excursions as methods to be practically familiar with the subjects. I really enjoyed these parts. With other students from almost all the continents, I got acquainted with the new cultures and learned how to respect them. We make a very nice bounding in and out the class. And with the whole school of Environmental Building and Planning, I have now a new family.

I ended my study with a good achievement, I have to say. I was nominated for Saxion Awards 2008, and won the 3rd prize. And, I got already a nice job in the Netherlands. For sure, I can’t make it all without the supports and courage from teachers and friends.

Thanks Saxion for bridging me to a brighter future.

Tot ziens,
Theresia Maturbongs
