This programme forms an excellent basis for a career in business or public services in the Netherlands and far abroad.

The industry
Financial talents are in high demand all over the world, in a wide diversity of sectors and organisations: within retail, manufacturing and healthcare as well as banks and accountancy firms. In the past it was sufficient to have financial acumen, but knowledge alone is not enough in today’s market. In addition to financial expertise, your future employer will also expect you to have strong communication skills which you put to good use in the various layers of the organisation, and to be able to translate financial objectives into concrete action plans. You will shape your own vision and motivate others to support you. In other words: you will be the linchpin in business-related decisions.

Depending on your educational background, you will be able to study either the one year or two year programme.

In the first year of this Short Degree Programme we work primarily on the intermediate knowledge, which you will need as a financial specialist. We will teach you to look at economic relations, financial markets, currency markets, ethics, governance and laws from an international perspective. Subjects such as financial management, management accounting and marketing will make sure that your level of general economic knowledge is raised as well. Furthermore, we give you the chance to improve your English language and research skills.

In the second year you will get a more profound knowledge in the subjects of accounting information systems (AIS), auditing, management information systems and risk management. The programme will be completed by a Research and Advisory Report (15 ECTS), which should prove that you are able to complete a research project and defend it.
