Research that matters

We conduct applied research. This research emerges from society and directly addresses the real-world challenges faced by organisations and professionals. Focusing on the areas of sustainability, health and safety, we work alongside students and partners to develop solutions that are both innovative and impactful. Through Living Technology, we combine technology and social innovation, always putting people first. We apply the knowledge we develop directly in the field. In this way, we help organisations move forward, strengthen the innovative capacity of SMEs and work together to achieve tangible progress in our own region and beyond.

CityLAB

Students, teachers, and researchers work together with residents and companies on smart solutions for society in our CityLAB. Read more about the lab, the research, and how we work.

Textile lab

In the Circular Textile Lab, machines on a small so-called “pilot” scale are used for the production of fibers, yarns and subsequently for weaving or knitting fabrics. These materials and products can then be analyzed for, for example, chemical composition, mechanical (strength) properties, color fastness, etc. The labs are used for education and research. Students, teachers and researchers from research groups and industry work together on challenges in the short and long term.

The Saxion FabLab in Enschede FabLab: Create Anything We are a workplace where everyone has the opportunity to bring their own ideas to life, using modern digital production tools. Whether you are an employee of a company, student, product developer, young entrepreneur, artist or just maker, all concepts can literally be made tangible here!
