Fun Park Challenge at Saxion

Twelve teams of Dutch High School students are competing in a challenge to design the best theme park in a ‘Fun Park Challenge’ at Saxion on Thursday 13 December. Students from several High Schools in and around Enschede present their ideas at Saxion’s campus in Enschede and will be working on them in the Saxion laboratories. The Fun Park Challenge is a cooperation between Saxion, Adventure Park Hellendoorn and Tauw.

Student Ambassadors
Twenty-two enthusiastic tech-students from Saxion are promoting technical studies at High Schools. The ‘Fun Park Challenge’ is one of these activities. The ambassadors have been giving preparatory lectures. Keeping in mind their interests, the ambassadors linked each student to a technical study. The students invent and design attractions for their own theme park. From the four participating High Schools, a total of 3 teams will come to Saxion for the final battle.

Promoting Technical Studies
Activities like the ‘Fun Park Challenge’ are part of a campaign to promote technical studies. As we are witnessing an increasing shortage of highly skilled technical workers in the Netherlands, Saxion wants to contribute to solving this problem by informing students about technical studies and encouraging them to choose a technical profile during their High School studies.

Saxion University of Applied Sciences offers several, English taught, technical studies. Check our programmes for more information!
