Keynote Speaker Ton Schoot Uiterkamp, "Perspectives on sustainable development"

Ton Schoot Uiterkamp (1944) holds a PhD in biophysical chemistry from the University of Groningen. He was a staff member of UNESCO in Cairo, Egypt and has held research and managerial positions at Yale University ( New Haven, CT) and at the Harvard School of Public Health (Boston, MA). He was a staff member and a department head at the Environmental Division of the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) in Delft. From 1991 he has been a professor of environmental sciences at RUG. He was the chairman of the Center for Energy and Environmental Sciences IVEM and the Science and Society Group. Since 2009 he has been an honorary professor of Environmental Sciences.

Keynote speaker Harry Webers, "Connecting people, planet and profit for a vital economy and a vital society"

After his studies at Wageningen Agricultural University in environmental and sanitary engineering Harry Webers has worked as a senior consultant for over 33 years in the field of waste water treatment, solid waste management, air pollution control, soil remediation and environmental legislation for industrial clients and governmental organizations. He has 30 years of experience in the management of a professional service firm. Between 2003-2013 Harry Webers was the Managing Director of Witteveen+Bos Consulting Engineers with 1,100 employees worldwide. In Juli 2016 he decided to quit his job to dedicate his life work to people, planet and profit: human capital and regional employment, sustainability and circular economy.

Keynote Speaker Wim Boomkamp: "Higher Education, its meaningful contribution to one world"

Wim Boomkamp has been President of Saxion University of Applied Sciences from 2008 until 2017. He is committed to both the Quality of Higher Education and Research as well as Internationalisation. He has a longstanding involvement in Higher Education in Eastern Netherlands, both at practical as well as managerial level. Before his period as President he served two terms as a member of the Executive Board of the University. Under his leadership Saxion has settled into its role of regional provider of human capital, facilitator of regional innovation and enhanced social economic performance. He is a member of the Twente Strategy Board. Wim Boomkamp was member of the Executive Board of the Dutch Association of Universities of Applied Sciences, where he held the position of chairman of the Committee on Internationalisation.
