You have (nearly) finished your exams and a fabulous summer awaits! And you will be joining our degree programme. How fantastic is that? On this page we want to tell you more about what you can expect from your first week at Saxion: the Saxion Introduction Days. This year the theme is 'Saxion Campsite'. We will be organising activities online, as well as on site! Here you can read all about the scheduled events, meet the student organisers, or check the frequently asked questions.
When are the Saxion Introduction Days held?
First things first: what are the exact dates for the Introduction Days? Make a note in your diary: this year the Saxion Introduction Days are held on Tuesday 24th, Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th of August. Below you can read what to expect and what we are planning.
What will the Introduction Days be like this year?
Saxion Campsite is the main theme! Our fun, virtual campsite is your base camp for the Introduction Days. But of course you also want to join in with some activities in person, on site. Behind the scenes we are working hard to make that happen, within the current Covid-19 guidelines. In all honesty: we are not entirely sure yet what will and won't be permitted after the summer.
What we do know is this. Alongside the virtual campsite, we will arrange a meeting for each class on site. In small groups, you will explore some of the hotspots your new town has to offer. The activities fall into four categories: sports, entertainment, culture and hospitality. This will be spread over the three days, to prevent overcrowding.
And we are cautiously exploring the option of music events in all three cities, to round the days off. Of course there is still a pandemic going on, and this would have to be done safely. So at present we cannot guarantee these music events will happen. As soon as there are any new developments, you can find them here. Or keep an eye on our socials: Instagram (@Saxionuas) and Facebook!
Introduction to your degree programme
Additional information: the Introduction Days always have a general part for all students, as well as separate degree programme introductions. Each degree programme has its own section during the Introduction Days to help you get acquainted with your degree programme, the school it belongs to and your fellow students. In this component of the 'intro', you will receive information specific to your degree programme. What this part of the programme looks like depends on your school. As soon as we know more we will share this with you.
