The art-director from ‘the Great Drift-Off’ has given you the assignment to develop concept art for this new movie. Therefore, he asks you to develop new ideas based upon the synopsis he has given you and present the concepts in an art book. He wants you to aim for a realistic approach since this is the real earth, only in 2104… Search for a place on the globe to start designing your world.
Do research on multiple historical subjects and contexts and possible futuristic solutions based upon historical values and technologies. Analyze style and design into detail. Combine historical facts. Combine history and style. Diverge in terms of multiple design possibilities and connect them. Of course, all creative ideas are allowed but avoid commonly used concepts like steampunk, Mad Max, cartoons, manga, floating rocks, zombies, dragons, et cetera.
