In the first years programme there are three courses in basic skill development. The first course covers the basics of effective interpersonal communication in general and focuses on self-awareness and students reflection on their own basic communicating skills.
Basic Communication Skills 2 focuses on leading an effective dialogue and information gathering whilst Basic Communication Skills 3 focuses on presentation skills.

Final Goal
This course will focus on the understanding of the interpersonal communication process, increasing student’s self-awareness with regards to presentation skills.
At the end of this course students are able to:
- Prepare for a presentation
- Collect and organise material for a presentation
- Structure a presentation into an introduction, a body and a conclusion, using a root statement
- Use visual aids effectively
- Deliver both an informative and a persuasive presentation
- Reflect on their own behaviour regarding presentation skills
