The main subjects in this course will be:

  • HRM activities 
  • Job content of an HRM professional 
  • Relevant knowledge areas and areas of interest for the HR professional
  • Management aspects: role/position, tools, HRM business partners
  • Role and position of the HRM professional 
  • Tools of the HRM professional

A lecture will cover the relevant topic each week. The immediate relevance will be discussed in workshops. Here, we will work on individual as well as group exercises. In addition, we will facilitate guest lectures

Test criteria

The evaluation is based upon an Open Question exam.

Throughout the course students will develop knowledge and understanding of the job content of an HR professional.

The students will get familiar with the field of Human Resource Management, know the tasks of an HR professional and know to what kind of HR instruments an HR professional has access to.

The students will gain insight into business aspects that are relevant for an HR professional, into with whom he or she often works together and into the role and position of an HR professional.
