Research Skills 2

Applied research consists of a set of different phases (the research cycle): 1) problem analysis, 2) research design, 3) data collection, 4) data analysis, 5) report (Verhoeven, 2011). In research 1 you have already worked through this cycle. Back then, emphasize was on the first phase, i.e. ‘problem analysis’. This course gives students the opportunity to concentrate on the ‘data analysis’ and ‘report’ phase of the research cycle. When viewed from the point of a research report, it concentrates on the method, results, and conclusion & discussion section.
