In this second year Group Dynamics 2 will focus more on the in-depth issue managers will face when leading groups. Therefore, this course is set-up as a Training Course. By getting trained and thus experiencing themselves, students will not only get more knowledge, but also the skills to cope with groups, the different personalities within groups and the processes between these individuals.
Test Form Assessment (AS)

Test criteria

• In order to be evaluated, it is obligatory to have participated in 6 out of 8 lessons.

• Conduct a group dynamic exercise in week 6, 7 or 8 in groups of 2 (some 3)

• Report

At the end of this Group Dynamics 2 course, students are able to:

1. Recognise the different developmental stages of groups based on the theories mentioned above

2. Analyse the different roles & norms within the group, based on the theories mentioned above

3. Design and conduct (or train) a group dynamic session (exercise / workshop), with the objective to positively promote interaction within the group in order to enhance group performance and evaluate using the provided form.

4. Making clear choices in and reflecting upon the interventions in positively promoting interaction in the group during the conducted group sessions.

5. Interview a manager about his or her team, analyse the dynamic stage that the group is in and advise the manager upon taking further steps in positively promoting group dynamics with the use of the theory used in GD1 and GD2.

6. Reflect upon all interventions used in promoting interaction as trainer in the workshop and set up new goals of interventions to further positively enhance group performance.
