Level 2 The beginning professional has at his disposal a thorough knowledge of the latest technologies in the field of raw materials, fabrics, production (knitting, weaving, nonwovens and clothing technology), finishing and printing, and of the supply chain within the international textile and fashion industry. The professional is capable of carrying out and applying technical research and analysis.

Test criteria

The student knows the basic concepts of chemistry (periodic table, molecular structures name, electronegativity and intra / intermolecular forces) and can understand and apply them. The student can recognize both natural and synthetic polymer processes and analyze and compare their material properties, taking sustainability into account. The student is able to name and remember different pre-treatment processes of different textile materials and can name the impact on the environment of different pre-treatment processes. The student is able to apply and analyze pre-treatment processes and machines for specific textile properties and product properties and to name the impact on the environment. The student knows the underlying principles of color perception, color mixing, color models and textile color measurements and is able to apply them . The student knows the chemistry of dyes and is able to name and apply the classification thereof with regard to the different textile fibers. The student can name the impact of external dyes on the environment.
