Level 3 The beginning professional has at his disposal a thorough knowledge of the latest technologies in the field of raw materials, fabrics, production (knitting, weaving, nonwovens and clothing technology), finishing and printing, and of the supply chain within the international textile and fashion industry. The professional is capable of carrying out and applying technical research and analysis.

Test criteria

The student is able to classify textile fibres, based on raw materials (natural / artificial, vegetable, animal, mineral or synthetic). The student is able to identify, compare and discuss the properties and applications of natural, artificial and synthetic fibres. They are able to describe and calculate the yarn count and yarn twist and twine effects. The student is able to identify and use different weaving techniques and describe the process of producing cotton, linen, wool, silk and polyester. The student is familiar with various raw materials, understands the impact they have on the environment and is able to classify them based on their impact.
