The course is designed to provide a theoretical and practical introduction to electronics. The course will integrate learning about electronic components and equipment’s, realisation of an electronic circuit and drawing a schematic of an electronic circuits and PCB (printed circuit boards) layout, with the aid of CAD (Computer Added Design of PCB) software. The theoretical part consist of knowledge to basic parts of electronics. The student will also get knowledge of tools and equipment that is used to realize an electronic board. During the Lab work the students first of all focus on the detailed design of a: - Exercise: Small surface mounting device (smd) and through-hole pcb of a blinking led - Realisation and testing of an electronic circuit. The students make a technical drawing which contains schematic for hardware and electronic circuits and PCB layout.
Test Form N.v.t./Not applicable/Nicht anwendbar (N)

Test criteria

Hardware knowledge: • Recognize the different components from a pcb. • Can recognize the deferent Packages of a component. • Draw the symbols of basic electronic components with corresponding reference name. • Can convert the coding of smd resistor and smd capacitor to its value. • Convert resistor value to the color code and vice versa. • Appoints the most commonly used tools and equipment and for which it is intended. • Read a component datasheet. • Read circuit diagram of basic electric circuits. • Calculate DC Voltage, Current, Power and Energy for various basic circuit. Series/Parallel, LED.
