The graduation project is the final project in the master ICT:SE. The student works independently on a highly complex and innovative assignment in an interdisciplinary team of professionals.
The aim of the graduation project is to allow the student to show that he/she can function as a specialized professional in the professional field of the program. The student shows the required professional skills to function at the desired level within a company.
During the master, students are educated to function as critical, practice-oriented thinkers with the knowledge and skills to keep on developing their expertise. Within the project students apply their software, research and professional skills, augmented by a specialization of the student’s own choice. Notably, this calls for:
- Designing innovative solutions for complex problems at a master level, supplying a vision on how to keep on developing these solutions, and maintaining and controlling the development process.
- Developing a deeper understanding of a specific sub-field of software engineering, and show that they can design solutions that go beyond the state-of-the-art.
- Individually carrying out a complex project with a methodically sound approach, incorporating feedback from peers, supervisors and (end) users.
- Showing individual expertise, highlighting that they can function as an advanced professional in the field of software engineering.
