Society and Technology 

With the aim of promoting awareness and a responsible attitude with regard to the impacts of nanotechnology, this module focuses on the interaction between society and technological development. Both the philosophy and ethics of technology, as well as more applied concepts and examples of the impacts of technology are discussed. The issues related to the (possible) impact nanotechnology might have on the health of employees and consumers, as well as impact it may have on the environment gets specific attention. The personal responsibility towards ethical issues (with respect to (nano) technology) is also part of the objectives of this module.
