Saxion and Privacy
Saxion uses Hippocampus to record your profile and personal interest data before, during and after scheduled ‘contact moments’, such as requests for degree programme information and study choice events. Below you will find more information about the purposes for which we process your personal data.
It is good to know that we store your data in a unique and secure central database and do not share it with third parties.
Purpose(s) of processing data

Sending information about degree programmes;

Registering applications/visits to study choice event(s), e.g. open days, orientation days and/or taster days;
- Sending invitations for new study choice events;
- Conducting statistical analyses of the orientation/study choice process of our (prospective) students.
Principles underlying the processing of data
You give us permission.
Categories of personal data
- First name, insert, last name, email address, postal code, house number, street, city, country, mobile number;
- How far along are you in selecting a degree programme (I have made decision/I still have doubts/I have no idea), educational background, final year of secondary education, school;
- Contact moments (date and type of information request or study choice event for which you have registered/which you attended).
Retention period of the personal data
We will retain your personal data for a maximum of 3 years
Internal receivers of the personal data
Staff of degree programmes/study choice events in which you are interested.
External receivers of the personal data
Hippocampus Utrecht in connection with the storage of your personal data. You have various rights with regard to the processing of your personal data, including the right to access, correct and delete data. Our privacy statement contains a complete overview of your rights and how you can contact us.
