This module will give you insight into the field of Human Resource Management; what it looks like in daily hospitality practice, and how an organisation can be hospitable towards its internal customer; its employee. Hospitable HRM is a continuation of the first year module Organizational Behaviour.
HRM theory is dealt with from the perspective of the line manager, and students themselves will do research on HR issues in the hotel world. The Human Capital driver is of course central to this module, but in addition to this, the other drivers (such as sustainability or technology), and their impact on human capital, play an important role as well.
By means of qualitative research, students gather insights from various stakeholders in the field in order to obtain a complete picture of the impact of HR issues on both line managers and staff. Themes covered include leadership, diversity & inclusiveness, and organisational culture.
