1. School of Commerce & Entrepreneurship
All the other schools are jealous of the School of Commerce & Entrepreneurship. Why? Because the industrial look and cool blue walls make every photo just that little bit more beautiful. If the newsroom photographers want to take a portrait photo, they like to sit their models on the brown leather couches in front of this wall. The result? An incredibly beautiful shot!
2. In front of the Edith Stein building
Nowhere else in the city does the sunset come into its own as well as in front of the Edith Stein building. The soft, light colours of the surroundings make your outfit look even better. But don’t wait too long to shoot a photo in this location – it’s becoming increasingly popular. Influencer Thijs Holmaat has already got in on the action. He’s posted several photos that were taken here and got thousands of likes with them. Just so you know...
3. On the roof terrace
The roof terrace on the Epy Drost building is an absolute must. Many a profile photo was taken here – and that’s not surprising, because the simple colours make sure that all eyes are on you. Our favourite place? Sitting in front of the windows when the sun is just about to set. Secret tip: the roof terrace is actually even more stunning in winter, covered in a layer of thick snow.
4. Mrs. Brown
The most beautiful hotspot in Enschede is, without a doubt, Mrs. Brown. This fantastic pastry shop is located in the heart of the city centre and wouldn’t look out of place in any home magazine. The marble tables are the perfect backdrop for a beautiful food photo, although it’s almost a shame not to photograph the blankets and trendy lamps. Another bonus: ...the aroma of freshly baked cakes comes free...
5. ETN Saladebar
ETN Saladebar is our favourite healthy pleasure. Here they don’t just serve salads – they really think about the presentation of the dishes. For the perfect picture, order the colourful ‘Hemelse Hummus’ salad or a delicious cake, sit outside on the terrace in front of the ETN logo and smile at the camera. Don’t forget to tag the location, because that can get you a lot of extra likes!
6. Volkspark
The popular Volkspark is just a few minutes’ walk from Saxion. This is the place where you were introduced to student life during the introductory week, where you danced during the opening party and where you recovered in the sunshine from your heavy night out. But this will soon also be your favourite spot to take a photo. Unfortunately the trees are no longer in bloom, but all that green still makes a great background for your photos. Tip to mix things up: For a super summery photo, take a shot by the water with a drink in your hand.
7. Roombeek
The most photogenic neighbourhood of Enschede? Roombeek! The streets in this neighbourhood are packed with cool staircases and industrial houses. Want to go a step further? Take a photo while standing or sitting on the stepping stones in the water. Influencers are also big fans of the road behind the Balen building. Why not take a walk round the neighbour and get clicking! Pro tip: Make sure your memory card is empty, because at the end of the day you’ll have hundreds of new photos in all those amazing places...
