Saxion extends online teaching until 1 June - message CvB
Last Monday, the government decided that events and gatherings are prohibited until 1 June. This has caused uncertainty as regards the teaching activities of universities of applied sciences and regular universities.
That is why Saxion decided today (25 March) to continue providing online teaching after 6 April. The ‘online’ period will be extended until 1 June 2020. Saxion is also preparing for a possible extension of this period until the end of the academic year.
Once the Corona measures have been eased, we will of course reconsider, on the basis of the then applicable guidelines, which forms of teaching and examination can be offered onsite again.
As Anka Mulder, President of the Executive Board puts it: "In these uncertain times, it is very important to offer our students and staff as much clarity as possible. Together, we are making every effort to continue our ‘remote’, online teaching. The quality of teaching is and remains very important in this regard. In any case, this extension provides clarity, which allows us to focus even better on how we provide the best possible online teaching. Of course, we understand that this once again raises many questions about examinations, internships, graduation and how to best work from home online. We are working hard to figure out the details, and you will soon receive answers. The dedication and flexibility that our students and colleagues have shown in recent weeks, gives us confidence that we will jointly come up with workable solutions. This continues to be a joint effort, so help each other where possible and stay healthy!
