Double degree for Ton Duc Thang University students after successful completion of the School Finance & Accounting programme
From July 2024, students from Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam will receive two diplomas, after having successfully completed the Saxion Bachelor programme in International Finance & Accounting (IFAS) at the Saxion UAS School of Finance & Accounting.
“A win-win situation for both organisations”, says director Sander Reinderink. For students, it means that their chances on the labour market will increase, because they can focus on local and international companies. The IFAS programme is thus gaining popularity in Vietnam. Now that the signature has been put, TDT graduate students will receive two titles: Bachelor of Science in Finance & Control from Saxion and the Bachelor of Finance & Banking from Ton Duc Thang University.
Students who start this academic year with the programme at Ton Duc Thang, in the special Saxion class, will be the first ones receiving two diplomas. The final phase takes place at IFAS in Deventer. This recognition indicates that the Vietnamese government considers the diplomas to be equivalent. The recognition of a double diploma is difficult to get from the Vietnamese government, because they do not allow this very often. The double diploma is the result of more than a year of preparation and many discussions. During the preparation phase, the schools visited each other to discuss the way of teaching and to make a programme comparison.
