Reading time Minutes

Christa Boer has recently joined the Saxion Supervisory Board. She is Vice-dean of Education at the Amsterdam University Medical Center (UMC) / VU Amsterdam (Faculty of Medicine). Furthermore, Christa Boer is Professor Medical Education and Programme Director of Medical Sciences at the VU Amsterdam.

We are overjoyed, after the departure of the highly experienced Liesbeth van Welie, to have been able to find a new member of the Supervisory Board with such extensive experience in research and education. Moreover, Christa Boer brings with her new insights into the highly relevant topic of healthcare both for Saxion and the region.” says Karl Dittrich, Chairperson of the Supervisory Board.

Christa Boer is an educational director with a scientific background. She has a great deal of experience within the healthcare sector and has among other things, worked as Professor Anaesthesiology and Professor Preoperative Care at the Amsterdam UMC. Christa Boer obtained her master’s in Biomedical Sciences at Leiden University and her PhD in Physiology / Anaesthesiology (Amsterdam-Munich-San Diego). She is also member of numerous of committees, has held various advisory posts and Christa Boer has also devoted herself to other roles in areas she feels strongly about. For example, making inappropriate behaviour a topic for discussion in the degree programme and the changing role of doctors in society. “I hope my background in education and research will be of additional value to the advisory role of the Supervisory Board,” she tells us.

President of the Executive Board, Anka Mulder is pleased with the appointment of Christa Boer: “Her experience in education and research makes Christa an excellent successor to the Education and Research Committee of the Supervisory Board.”

Christa Boer succeeds Liesbeth van Welie who left the Supervisory Board on 21 May after being a member for two full terms. Alongside Christa Boer, the Saxion Supervisory Board consists of Mr Karl Dittrich Chairperson, Mr Frans Duynstee, Ms Karin Sluis and Mr Paul Koch.
