Enschede Rainbow Days 2025
The Enschede Rainbow Days 2025 will take place from Friday 3 October to Sunday 12 October. This year, they centre around diversity, inclusion and connection with the overarching theme 'Resilient Together'. The Epy Drost building at Saxion will be illuminated in rainbow colours throughout the entire week.
There are plenty of activities to enjoy during Rainbow Days. We are pleased to showcase two of them for you!
Pride Walk
On Saturday, 4 October there is a Pride Walk. The Pride Walk is the moment to literally stand up together for diversity, inclusivity and solidarity. Young and old, queer and ally: everyone is welcome to join us.
If you're joining, you can gather from 2:00 PM at the square on M.H. Tromplaan. The lively and colourful parade kicks off at 2:30 PM, accompanied by the rhythmic sounds of percussion band SamBam. The route ends around 3.30 PM at Stonewall, where the additional programme begins (including a drag bingo).
The Pride Walk is wheelchair accessible.
Symposium Resilient together: where Pride, science and solidarity meet
On Wednesday, 8 October, Saxion and the University of Twente will host a symposium titled: "Resilient Together: Where Pride, Science, and Solidarity Meet." The event is inclusive and open to everyone, featuring a three-part programme. Students, professionals and retired staff members will share personal stories. Researchers will offer their insights and we will watch the film Enschede 2050 together. Afterwards, we will discuss how Twente can permanently connect people, particularly marginalised groups.
Are you coming too? The programme starts at 2:00 PM and will be opened by Albert van Winden (head of Enschede 700, chairperson of MKB Twente and secretary of Ondernemend Twente). This event is free of charge, but registration is required. You can register via this link.
