Circular spatial development
We develop circular strategies for the design, construction, management and renewal of urban infrastructure at every level, i.e. city, neighbourhood, street and buildings. This approach is centred on the transformation of the building chain and the monitoring and evaluation of circularity.
Key themes of our research:
We support municipalities and companies in embedding circular principles into their operational workflows – across both construction processes and spatial development.
We develop practical methods and tools that enable municipalities and companies to monitor and refine their transition toward circular work processes
City Loops
As part of the European Horizon2020 City Loops project, Saxion is working to embed circular principles into construction and redevelopment projects in public spaces, in collaboration with the municipality of Apeldoorn and six other medium-sized European cities and partners.
