Marcel, Fashion & Textile Technologies alumni

‘’I studied Fashion and Textile Technologies at Saxion. During my studies, I got the opportunity to do an internship at Acne Studios in Stockholm and Adidas in Nürnberg. I really enjoyed both of my internships. In fact, after my studies I started working at Adidas. Saxion has definitely prepared me for the professional work field. The discussions I experienced during group projects prepared me to work in a team and taught me that communication and being a team-player is a key. In addition, my study programme taught me besides communication technical skills as well. This knowledge is very helpful if you are interested to work in the fashion industry. ‘’

Rob, International Hotel Management alumni

''Even though my study focussed on International Hotel Management, I learned so much more about other topics such as finance and economics, leadership and HR, event management, marketing and so on. And if it wouldn't have been for the amazing business network Saxion has, I wouldn't have gotten my internship at The Royal Horseguards Hotel in London. After my studies, I moved to Australia and decided to start my own business. With Rosso Digital, I advise small hospitality venues. The skills that I have learned during my studies are very much transferable into other industries, or job positions that you didn’t even know existed. And in the end, my knowledge and skills gave me the confidence to start a business myself.''

Olumide Omotoso , International Business SDP alumni

''I grew up in Nigeria and followed the International Business short degree programme. After writing my thesis, I got the idea for The Shoe Project, which I initially used to collect shoes for Nigerian children, but which has since grown into so much more than just a collection campaign. The main goal is to use these shoes to inspire and encourage children to stay on the right path, so that they stay far away from drugs, alcohol and crime. Together with some coaches, scientists and physiotherapists, I am developing master classes and seminars that actually run parallel to football. We want to give the children some control over their own lives and try to show them that they are appreciated.''
