Extended Reality Lab

In recent years advancements in hardware and computing power have led to new developments in the field of virtual and augmented reality, computer graphics, machine learning and computer vision. To explore this new technology and its applications, the Saxion XR labs is offering hardware, support, expertise and dedicated workspaces.

In the lab you will find a wide range of equipment available for experiments and the building of prototypes. This includes state-of-the-art virtual and augmented reality devices, computers, motion capture solutions, cameras, audio equipment, etc.

Besides being a technology hub the XR lab is also the place where students, industry and research comes together. Through various projects, prototypes are being built for (serious) gaming, simulation, revalidation, story-telling, sports, training, demonstrations, etc.

As a student you are welcome to visit the lab and work on your own project. You can also join one of the available projects with our research and industry partners either through your curriculum or as a resident graduate student.

For researchers interested in the above named technology we offer hardware support and expertise. We can also bring researchers and students into contact with each other to collaborate on interesting research projects.

As a non-profit XR lab, we are happy to share our expertise and resources with industrial partners. Here partners can get in touch with students for brainstorming sessions and the realization of prototypes. We can also connect organizations with relevant research groups within Saxion.
