Whether you are a researcher, lecturer, or student, we provide the tools, expertise, and guidance to take your project to the next level.

As a partner in the research process, we actively collaborate with you. From concept development to refining tangible prototypes. At Saxion FabLab, you are not working alone. You’re working with a team of experts dedicated to enhancing your success. Together, we create solutions that are not only theoretically strong but also practically applicable and innovative.

FabLab Enschede is more than a public workspace; it’s a gateway to pioneering digital technologies, a driving force for applied research, and an incubator for collaboration.

Who are we

At Saxion FabLab, research and development take center stage. In our advanced digital workspace, we offer researchers, students, and lecturers the opportunity to realize their ideas and projects using a wide range of computer-controlled prototyping machines such as 3D printers and scanners, laser cutters, UV printers, vacuum formers, PCB milling machines, and tools for electronics and programming.

The FabLab acts as a crucial hub for open innovation, where sharing knowledge and designs is encouraged. This takes place in an environment where learning and experimentation go hand in hand. We support visitors through walk-in sessions, workshops, and specialized training, giving everyone the chance to make their ideas tangible.

Our mission

At FabLab, we believe in democratizing technology so everyone has the chance to use innovation for the benefit of society.

We connect research with impact by making technology accessible and fostering innovation. Our goal is to equip researchers, lecturers, and students with the resources to turn their research into tangible outcomes using new digital techniques and collective knowledge.

We achieve this by:

  • supporting researchers in transforming concepts into prototypes;
  • facilitating collaborations between education and regional partners;
  • introducing technologies that contribute to societal progress;
  • conducting research on how digital fabrication technology can create more impact;
  • inspiring others by demonstrating practical solutions.
