The assessment consists of two assignments, which are done individually. The assignments focus on: Writing (referencing, use of sources) and reflection.

Test criteria

Assignment I Writing
-Does the student explain why they want to come to the Netherlands to study?
-Does the student explain why they want to do HM / TM?
-Is the student able to summarise the main features of the Dutch education system?
-Does the student use (at least two different) sources?
-Does the student use the APA style when referencing?
Assignment II Reflection
-The student describes the strengths/weaknesses of their learning style
-They describe the strengths/weaknesses of the programme
-They describe the strengths/ weaknesses of the hospitality industry
-They describe the main differences between these strengths and weaknesses
-They explain whether these characteristics are a threat or an opportunity
-They give a fellow student who has a different cultural background feedback in terms of their strengths / what went well
-They give a fellow student who has a different cultural background feedback in terms of areas for improvement
-They describe two meaningful experiences
-They set three to five learning goals, based on the responses to the other questions
-They formulate the learning goals in a SMART manner
They submit both assignments
