They are capable of conducting technical research and analysis, and applying these results.

Learning goals

The student is able to specify, understand and classify carpets/fabrics according to yarn count (3,4,5,6 yarn), based on their structure and how they were produced.
The student is able to discuss, compare and evaluate the yarn count of carpets/fabrics in terms of their properties and how they are used (depending on the binding method).
The student is able to analyse and classify knits on the basis of binding (RR and RL) and knitting technique.
The student is able to discuss lock settings for knits as well as how they are used (depending on the weave).
