Competence 1 Technical knowledge and analysis. Level 3 The beginning professional has at his disposal a thorough knowledge of the latest technologies in the field of raw materials, fabrics, production (knitting, weaving, nonwovens and clothing technology), finishing and printing, and of the supply chain within the international textile and fashion industry. The professional is capable of carrying out and applying technical research and analysis.

Test criteria

The student is able to memorize and substantiate process steps, machines and methods for the mechanical finishing of various textile materials. The student can recognize fabric samples, trade names and product applications and relate them to a mechanical finish. The student is able to recognize and name processes and methods and various applications for adding a chemical finish to textiles. The student is able to apply and argue textile aids that are used for chemical finishing. The student is able to remember and explain the environmental impact of mechanical and chemical finishes. The student is able to select and analyze fashion fabrics based on (WGSN) trends, sustainability developments, material properties (shape, texture, structure, coating).
