In this project, students will work in groups of 4, for a client/company, to design a sustainable, commercially viable product, process or application that is related to textile technology and/or textile and colour chemistry. The student will conduct a market analysis and use Lamb & Kallal's design framework to devise new product-market strategies. By the end of the project, the student will be able to reflect on their and other team member's contributions to this project, and learn from this for future projects.

The project will start with a kick-off, preferably at the client's premises. During the first three weeks, the students will be taught the theory. Then in the remaining weeks, the project teams (4 students) will work on their project. In week 5, there will be an evaluation based on a small presentation to a group of stakeholders (comprising the client, the lecturer responsible for the module and a textile lecturer). During the evaluation, the project progress and results will be discussed.  The coach will oversee the group processes and supervise individual students. The students will be held responsible for the project's progress. The students will compile relevant information from clients, researchers, lecturers, schools or companies. Students conclude the project with a report, and by presenting the final design to the expert team. The expert team comprises the client, coach, lecturer responsible for the project and the textiles lecturer.
