The minor deals with manual therapeutic and sports physiotherapeutic diagnostics and treatment. The emphasis in the first part will be on the subjects of the build-up of connective tissue and tissue recovery. These are linked to the teaching of manual mobilisation skills, such as 3-dimensional arthrogenic mobilisations. The second part of the minor deals with exertion physiology and the study of training, which focus more on sports physiotherapy.

In addition to the education above with regard to manual therapy and sports physiotherapy, an important part concerns research skills. This means that the student learns to write a research report.

The education consists of lectures, practical training, self-study. The lesson units are organised in semester 2.

The forms of the lessons will be a mix of frontal, interactive, presenting, discussion, intercollegiate meetings, etc.

During the minor, the competencies of ‘screening, diagnosing and therapeutic’ will be discussed in the role of care provider. In the role of developer of the profession, the competency ‘researching’ will be discussed. All of these competencies will be enhancing in the natural line of the regular education.

In addition to contact hours, students have to take a high degree of studying independently into account and carry out practical training independently (practising).

The minor is intended for fulltime students of the course of physiotherapy.
The education units will be planned every 6 months on various days of the week, depending on the availability of (visiting) lecturers.
