Update 18: Education and assessment in term 4

Reading time Minutes

Students will receive their timetables for term 4 today at the latest. Students from the International Business School have been informed about their schedule since the beginning of this week, because online teaching will take place there next week.

Assessment - term 4 and resits from previous terms

Should the Saxion buildings remain closed after 1 June, this will have consequences for assessments for term 4 and the resits from previous terms, which would usually have taken place on one of the Saxion campuses.

The goal is to allow testing to continue as much as possible online . Both the 'regular' term 4 assessments, which are part of education in term 4, as well as resits from previous terms which according to Bison will take place in term 4, are scheduled in the normal allocated exam or resit weeks.

Most of the term 3 assessments which did not take place will be scheduled by the degree programmes in the evenings from weeks 4.2 to 4.7. In cases where this is not possible in term 4, these will be moved to a later date. From week 4.8 up to and including week 4.11, tests will be offered both during the day and during the evenings.

Tests which absolutely must take place on campus, for example a lab-experiment, will be moved to a later date if the Saxion buildings remain closed.

Information about your assessments

You will be informed about the form in which an assessment will be offered in a timely fashion, minimally 10 workdays before the test date. This will happen via the regular channels, where your exam timetables are usually to be found. Due to the current situation, it is not possible to publish the exam timetables for this term in their entirety. Communication and publication will take place in phases.

Examination instructions

Some online exams require that you first install a piece of software on your own PC or laptop. The Exam Office has made an overview of all the relevant information per system.

What will we do when corona measures are relaxed?

All classes, assessments and resits which are now taking place online will continue to do so until 1 June 2020. Should the corona measures be relaxed, we will of course examine which forms of education and testing can quickly take place again on campus within the then applicable guidelines. The main priorities will be given to practical education and assessment. This way, the opportunities will be used to catch up on lessons and tests that are currently not possible due to the closure of our buildings.
