Saxion suspends all university-related travel to China for students and staff

Reading time Minutes

Considering the developments around the coronavirus and the influence of this virus on public life in China, Saxion University of Applied Sciences has decided to no longer allow staff and students to travel to China for work or study-related purposes. Public life in nearly all of mainland China has come to a standstill and travel restrictions and entry and departure restrictions apply to certain areas. The Chinese Government advises people to stay indoors as much as possible.

Students from China or who travel via China are welcome at Saxion, provided they are allowed to leave China and enter the Netherlands based on the guidelines issued by the government. Saxion will continue to actively monitor the situation and developments in China and other countries on a daily basis. As such, Saxion is following the guidelines specified by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (BuZa), the Netherlands National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and the Dutch Municipal Public Health Service (GGD).
