Update 10: New info about Saxion measures
On Sunday 15 March, the government took additional measures to tackle the corona virus. This means that Saxion must respond by adjusting several measures of its own. That is why the buildings are closed until Monday 6 April. In this update you can find the measures which are of importance for you as student or staff member.
Online education
Starting today, Saxion will begin with online education for part-time students (Saxion Part-time School). From the 17th of March, online education will gradually be offered to full-time study programmes. Continue to follow your schedule for this. The timetables remain intact, and students will be notified by the school no later than 4 p.m. the day before the scheduled class if the class will take place online.
Working from home
In accordance with the measures introduced by the Cabinet, Saxion staff will work from home, unless they perform a vital function. These employees will be given targeted access, for example in order to be able to continue to take care of our ICT systems. On MySaxion you will find all the information you need to work from home.
Contribution in vital sectors
The Saxion Safety Team has decided to prioritise work in those vital sectors (education, childcare) over education and research. Students and staff who are willing to contribute to alleviate the pressure in these sectors will be afforded plenty of room for this. As an employee, we ask you to coordinate this with your manager.
Interns
Are you currently studying or undertaking your internship at a company? The same applies to you as for all workers in the Netherlands: work from home! If you are placed in a vital sector, there is a good chance that the company will appeal to you to continue to work. That is possible, if you are willing. It is important that you feel comfortable with this, considering the health risks. Please coordinate this further with your internship supervisor.
Exams and resits
In a following update, information will follow about which exams can and cannot be continued, or which will be offered in a different form. Keep an eye on saxion.edu, MySaxion and our social media channels.
Care for international students
With corona-developments putting a stop to social activities, we are looking into how we can assist our international students. We are considering possibilities to meet (online) for both Enschede and Deventer.
