Accessibility
If you have any questions, first check whether you can find the answer online via one of the sites mentioned in this message. Are you an employee? You can find the message here. You may not be able to figure it out completely and still have questions. Then you can contact your school (see contact information on the FAQ) or one of the central information points.
Information Security & Privacy
We are seeing an increase in working from home worldwide. Unfortunately, malicious parties sometimes try to take advantage of this situation. There has been a large increase in dubious messages on social media and via email.
These messages/ emails sometimes look very familiar. They try to tempt you to browse malicious websites where your (login) data is requested, files are downloaded to your device or you are directly infected by malware or ransomware. This puts you at risk of others getting hold of your data, impersonating you, and then infecting other people and systems.
You can take a number of actions to protect yourself:
- Don't just click on links in emails or messages on social media
- Check if the link goes to a known website / location before you click on it
- If you do not trust it and you know the sender, ask him / her via another medium whether the message can be trusted
- Install a virus scanner (here are some examples) and keep it up to date
- Make sure you have the latest updates installed on your phone, laptop, tablet or other devices
- Do not use the same password for different accounts. Use a strong password
- Encrypt the data on your device so that the data is safe in case of theft
- Back up your data and store it in a different location from your PC
If you have any questions, various security topics are further detailed on the Self-Service Portal.
