14-09-2020 Corona update: What to do in case of (possible) infection
Saxion closely follows the developments surrounding the coronavirus. It is an uncertain time and we find it is important to inform you as well as possible about what we do and what measures there are for a safe and healthy study and work environment.
Saxion informs - on the advice of the GGD - in the case of a positive tested student or employee the involved as soon as possible. If you are not one of those involved, you do not have to worry and additional measures are not necessary.
As you may have read in an earlier corona update, we received the first report last week from a student who took a lesson at Saxion and subsequently tested positive for Covid-19.
We follow the guidance of the GGD and RIVM when making decisions and taking follow-up steps regarding coronavirus. Of course we do all we can to prevent possible infections in our buildings, including establishing walking routes, extra cleaning and enforcing the 1.5 metre social distancing rule. We ask everyone who visits our buildings to comply with the measures, so that the risk of contamination is as small as possible. It is of utmost importance that you as a student or staff member do not enter our buildings if you experience any symptoms!
What to do in case of (possible) infection?
We have drawn up an action framework to make it clear what you should do in the event of a (possible) coronavirus infection. It shows you which steps you need to take if you:
-
tested positive for corona
-
have health problems that could indicate corona
-
have been in contact with someone who is infected with the coronavirus
-
come from an area designated as a risk area

If you are experiencing symptoms
Stay at home and make an appointment for a corona test. If you have mild symptoms such as a cold, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, slight cough or raised temperature, and/or a sudden loss of smell or taste, get tested and stay home until the results are known. In this way we can control the spread of the virus and protect each other. You can make an appointment in 2 ways.
-
To make an appointment call: (0800) 1202 (between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.). Have your citizen service number (BSN) to hand (can be found on your ID card).
