18-12-2021 Coronavirus update: Educational lockdown up to and including 9 January 2022

Reading time Minutes

On 18 December, 2021, the Cabinet decided that the Netherlands is going back into lockdown. This means that most education will be closed. This restriction applies from Sunday 19 December, 05:00.

An exception has been made for exams planned on location, practical education and supervision of vulnerable students. This means that areas at our locations in Enschede, Deventer and Apeldoorn including the libraries in Deventer and Enschede, will remain open to this end.

As far as possible education that is not permitted to take place in our buildings will be available online, whenever possible. Our lecturers can only do as much as they can.

Internships and research

For internships, students must follow the rules that apply to the sector/ field in which the internship takes place. If those activities continue, the internship can also continue. At this moment in time we have no information  regarding research. This will follow as soon as it is known.

These measures will apply up to and including 9 January, 2021 whatever happens.

What does this mean for Saxion?

We are preparing for the new situation as much as we can and what that means for next Monday and the rest of the week. We will inform you more about this as soon as we know. Please keep an eye on your mailbox, our website and your timetable in the MySaxion app.
