Saxion and region compare the impact of Covid-19 with their international partners

Reading time Minutes

Research at Saxion is increasingly taking place at international level: research that is embedded in larger topics more frequently requires knowledge at an international level. We do this by working together with our partners worldwide. Recently, professor Timber Haaker from Saxion and his research group ‘Business Models’ had two studies published in international journals.

Published articles

One very topical article from the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu in Roemenia: “Effects of covid-19 on business models in Romania and The Netherlands, a digitalization perspective”, was published in Econpapers.

Another article was also published together with Saxion's partner Ton Duc Thang university in Vietnam: “Business model innovation through the application of the Internet-of-Things: A comparative analysis”, Journal of Business Research, Elsevier.

International research at Saxion is becoming increasingly mission-driven

Collaboration with international partners is very important for Saxion. By collaborating with international partners, Saxion can do joint research, share knowledge and learn from each other. This is a win-win situation. Internationalisation is a spearhead of Saxion’s strategy. Saxion has had an international orientation in education for a long time.

We don’t just prepare our students for the national labour market but also for the international one. By looking outwards we bring the world to us.

The importance of international strategic collaborations

President of the Executive Board of Saxion, Anka Mulder is well aware of the importance of international strategic collaboration in research. During her first international visit as President of the Executive Board, Anka Mulder led the working delegation to Vietnam, including 3 professors, Timber Haaker, Harry Futselaar and Richard van Leeuwen. During this trip, they visited Ton Duc Thang University and put particular emphasis on fostering research collaboration. This visit led to the setting up of many research collaborations in the field of business models, water technology and new business. A further research collaboration in the field of Blockchain is now planned for the foreseeable future. The publications of the Business Models research group is one of the outcomes of this trip.
