14-01-2021 Corona update: Lockdown will be extended til February 8, 2021
Current Covid-19-guidelines at Saxion remain unchanged
On Tuesday, 12th January 2021, during the national press conference the cabinet announced that it would be extending the lockdown in the Netherlands by at least three weeks. This means that the current Saxion corona guidelines will remain unchanged. These guidelines will continue to apply till February 8 2021.
During the lockdown, online education and working remains the norm. An exception applies to exams planned on location, practical education and facilities for vulnerable students and employers.
“The extension of the lockdown asks quite a bit of you and our students. "Keep it up" can be difficult," says Anka Mulder, Chair of the Executive Board. “As an University of Applied Sciences and employer, we understand this and we understand that you can’t lead a horse to water.”
Exams on location
Exams are scheduled to start again next week, also on location. Students are obliged to know the exam rules for exams taking place on location. For example, it is important that students know that these exams are taking place on location and that they bring proof of identity with them. You can find other exam rules during corona time here.
Internships and research activities
For internships, students must follow the rules that apply to the sector/ field in which the internship takes place. If those activities continue, the internship can also continue. As now, research activities can only take place on location if they are strictly location-bound.
Emergency childcare
Staff needed for educational activities are on the list of ‘key occupations’ that keep society going during the corona crisis. This also applies to Saxion staff. Employees may be entitled to make use of ‘emergency childcare’ during the lockdown.
When there is more or new information, you will hear this as soon as possible via a new update.
