24-06-2021 Corona-update: Easing of coronavirus measures as of 26 June

Reading time Minutes

The press conference held by the Dutch government last Friday, on 18 June, announced the easing of measures for all sectors of society. This is very good news and offers a great perspective for the summer holidays and the period thereafter. In this update, you will read what the easing of measures means for the period up to the summer holidays. The next update will detail what education will be like after the summer holidays.

1.5 metre distancing measure to remain in place until 16 August

The 1.5 metre-distance measure will continue to apply until 16 August, meaning that the number of people permitted in any given space remains limited. If you travel to one of the Saxion locations before 16 August, then make sure you maintain a distance of 1.5 metres from others.

Face masks no longer obligatory as of 26 June

The Dutch government also announced that, as of Saturday 26 June, you are only required to wear a face mask in situations in which the 1.5 metres distancing between people cannot be guaranteed. Examples of such situations include public transport, at airports, and at train stations. Within Saxion, you are therefore no longer obliged to wear a face mask as of 26 June, except in situations in which a distance of 1.5 metres between people cannot be maintained: for example, during practical education. You are free to continue to wear a face mask regardless – this is perfectly acceptable.

Self-testing

It is important to continue to test yourself using self-tests before arriving on location. We would like to call on everyone to continue to use the self-tests, and certainly also after returning from holiday (abroad) later and at the start of the new academic year. You can request self-tests until the end of July via www.zelftestonderwijs.nl
