27-11-2021 Corona-update: No additional measures for higher education
On Friday 26 November there was another press conference in which the government announced new corona measures for the next three weeks, until at least Saturday 18 December. Fortunately, no additional measures have been taken for higher education. This means that education can continue as planned.
Higher education is also excluded from the new measures such as the closing time of 17h and the travel advice. In this update we again draw your attention to the current corona measures.
Measures and guidelines
-
Wearing a face mask is compulsory when moving through communal areas in the Saxion buildings.
-
Keep your distance from each other, even though the social distancing rule of 1,5 metres does not apply in higher education.
-
Continue self-testing for Covid-19 twice a week before coming to Saxion. You can order your Covid-19 self-tests free of charge via www.zelftestonderwijs.nl.
-
There is a maximum group size of 75 people in a classroom, with the exception of exams. This has been taken into account in the timetable.
-
Work from home, unless there is really no other option. For faculty members, the timetable will dictate whether or not lecturers need to be physically present on site.
-
The Saxion buildings may remain open after 5 pm.
-
We do not have to ask students and employees for a corona admission ticket.
-
How to act when a housemate has tested positive for the coronavirus has been tightened up. You should then stay at home and test on day 5.
Open day in Deventer on Saturday 27 November will go ahead as planned
We have chosen to go ahead with the open day in Deventer, because we think it is important that new students can get to know Saxion, our teachers and students, as long as this is also possible within the corona measures. During the open day, we therefore comply with the applicable corona measures of the government. From the space that has been offered to us from the government, we have given shape and content to the programme of the open day in a safe way. This includes regulating visitor flows through time slots, wearing face masks and keeping 1,5 metres distance. Additionally, we have requested potential students to come to the open day alone.
