The INTRO has started!
The time has come: the INTRO has started! From Tuesday 27 August to Thursday 29 August, you will take part in the introduction week in Deventer, Enschede and Apeldoorn. But what can you expect from your INTRO? What are the highlights per location? You can read it here!
What is the INTRO?
For new students, Saxion organises an introduction week for the best start to your studies. During this week you get the chance to meet your study programme, new city, campus and fellow students. All this through fun activities and a festival per location!
What's on the programme?
During the first days of INTRO, you will get to know your study programme. You will meet your class, fellow students and teachers. Important information from your study programme will pass by, so don't miss it! Furthermore, each city has a general INTRO programme for all new students. You participate in this together with the programme.

These are the highlights per location:
Apeldoorn
During INTRO in Apeldoorn, a diverse programme is ready to get you off to a great start! It starts with a warm welcome on campus, followed by training activities where you get to know your fellow students and teachers. Then you can relax over drinks and barbecue, and get creative with a ‘Pimp your Shirt’ workshop. In the evening, there are plenty of festive activities at GIGANT, such as a big party and a movie night, and the night ends with an afterparty in the city centre.
The next day, training activities and a pub quiz are again scheduled, followed by a fun Pizza Party. You will spend the evening in the centre of Apeldoorn, together with the study associations. You will end the week with the INTRO market on campus and an exciting City Game throughout the city.
Deventer
In Deventer, you can expect a diverse and festive programme during INTRO! The week starts with training activities, where you will get to know your programme and fellow students. At various times, you can relax at the Foodtruck Festival. In between, there is room to unwind or take part in creative activities, such as pimping your INTRO shirt. In the evening, the party continues with performances at the Burgerweeshuis by Sigourney K. / The Dean and The Broker / Cupido Soundsystem (DJ set Benchwarmers).
There will also be training activities on Wednesday, followed by a BBQ with DJ and another evening of entertainment at the Burgerweeshuis from
From Flaire / Reanny / Albino Sports. There are also cool activities such as The Plant Show and karaoke at the Deventer Schouwburg.
On Thursday you can attend a session for international students. We highly recommend you attend, as valuable information will be shared. It's also a good opportunity to meet fellow international students! End the week with the INTRO Festival on Thursday, where you can take part in a game show, talent show and market. Then you can end the day performing Dikke Baap & Friends at the Burgerweeshuis or the activities at the theatre. For those not yet tired, you can go out on the town at De Hip (Let's Mix party), Bar Bruut, De Bisschop and more.
Enschede
In Enschede, INTRO is full of activities to get your academic year off to a great start! The week starts with training activities, where you get to know your programme and new classmates. In between, you can relax at the INTRO Relax & Connect, where you can unwind, do creative activities or unwind in a low-pressure room. The Foodtruck Festival will give you plenty of opportunities to enjoy good food, while the day will end with a fun pub crawl downtown for some courses.
On Wednesday, training activities continue, followed by the smashing Introduction Concert on the Oude Markt, featuring The Dirty Daddies, Roxy Dekker & Turfy Gang. These hugely popular bands will be joined by Lateesha from ArtEZ Conservatorium Enschede and the dynamic DJ duo The Heartbreaks known from MIAUW's Queernights. There is also a museum night at Rijksmuseum Twente with an exhibition and a film in the courtyard garden.
On Thursday, you'll start with a session specific for international students. Don't miss it, you'll get valuable info and meet fellow international students. Then close the week with the super-fun Saxion Summer Festival in the Volkspark. The evening ends with an afterparty at Aspen Valley and the HBO Society for those who want!
