Mitchelle is doing her MA at Saxion

Reading time Minutes

Mitchelle is a student from Zimbabwe. She graduated with her Bachelor's in International Business at Saxion and chose to pursue her studies at a master's level. She is now following the Master of Arts in Management programme.

"Doing a master's degree allows me to gain a deeper understanding and expertise in a specific area of study or profession. This Master of Arts in Management helps students to develop an understanding of current scenarios in business or organisations. Students grow an awareness from a practical approach whilst developing their view in understanding complex issues.

I am focusing on building a career around working with people, whether in education or business. Currently, there are 9 students in class, all internationals! From Lebanon, Indonesia, Germany, Netherlands, India and Zimbabwe. We are all from different working fields such as Automation, Engineering, Investments, Education, Health, Chemistry and more. The atmosphere is very relaxed, we are a small group but we support each other which is what I value the most.

In this master's programme, not only do we do assignments individually but we also have group projects. We are currently working on a Business Consultancy project, where we inform our client who is an investor if he should invest in the project we are researching on."

What I really love about this programme is the flexibility.

"What I really love about this programme is the flexibility. Classes are either held on location or online. This can be very helpful especially if work gets busy, you can join the lesson via Blackboard, but of course, this depends on the lecturer.

I would recommend this master’s programme to any student interested in getting to know more about the business sector and would like to have more depth and knowledge regarding a certain knowledge and skillset. Most students who partake in this programme want to be involved in management and have a managerial position."
