Name: Estrella Ramos Quiles Age: 22 Field of Study: International Business Year of Study: 4th year

Take us through your story! Why did you choose this study? Did you find it easy or difficult to make your study choice?

I always knew I wanted to study something business related I just didn’t know in which field so the fact that we study 4 business domains during the bachelor was the perfect opportunity for me.

What do you enjoy most about your study so far and why? How did this interest come about?

I found the sales and marketing classes and identity development very interesting and they made me want to dig dipper in those topics.

What has been the biggest challenge for you in studying? How did you overcome it? Or what do you still find difficult and how do you deal with it?

The biggest challenge for me I would say it was becoming confident in my English skills as I believed that coming from a Spanish education, I was well behind my other peers.

Can you already apply your education in practice? Can you give concrete examples? For instance, during internships or in your part-time job?

Definitely, I did an internship in international sales and I am currently doing another one in the marketing department of another company.

If know you want to study something business related but you are still not sure in which domain – this is the perfect study for you.

A glimpse into your future. What are your dreams? What do you want to achieve or work towards?

My biggest dream would be to build an online business that allows me to work remotely but for now, I really enjoy and love learning from my colleagues and the corporate world.

Imagine: you are a study advisor for your own program. What is the most important, enjoyable, or interesting advice you would give to someone considering this study?

My advice would be to take it seriously, specially the business cases. During lectures, imagine yourself in those real world situations and try to retain the information learned that way because you will definitely use it in the future.

Do you have any inspiring tips for other students? Good life hacks for your (mental and physical) health? Or other advice to successfully complete the study?

Make sure to also enjoy the time at university, go grab a snack with your classmates between classes, make plans after school. You will miss that “uni life” once you start working!
